This is a personal long-term project which started in 2011. On the last day of april Swedes gather around bonfires to celebrate the entrance of spring every year. The bonfire tradition originates from farmers need to burn old materials and garbage as a way to make place for the new. There are variations in how the tradition is celebrated across the country, but this project explores how the tradition is celebrated in the county Västerbotten.
